Club Info

The club was initially established way back in September 1953, and was originally known as the Holt Freshwater and Sea Angling Club. Then in 1960 it was renamed the Holt Sea Angling Club and the headquarters was the Kings Head in Holt although the club no longer has a fixed headquarters.

We are a very friendly club and new members are made to feel at home straight away. The club caters for members of mixed abilities from the pure novice to highly competitive match anglers in a friendly environment which is the cornerstone of the club.  This mix of skills with those that “don’t know” rubbing shoulders with those that “do” helps to improve the fishing knowledge of the novice.  For some a club match is just about fishing in a friendly environment with friendly guys and gals and for others it is a matter of being competitive and winning; we cater for all types.  It is up to each individual member to decide how he or she wishes to take the club to maximise their enjoyment in the sport .

Club matches are normally held every Sunday at various Norfolk venues majority of which are along the shingle ridge on the North Norfolk Coast at Cley, Salthouse, Kelling and Weybourne.  The club also fishes at venues in East Norfolk at Trimingham, Bacton and Walcott and in the river Ouse estuary at Kings Lynn.

The club also holds at least two main Open matches during the year for those that take their fishing to higher match level. The club also enters teams in the Sea Angler Clubman League where in 2009-2010 were runners up and the Individual winner nationwide was a club member.  In addition to this the club enters two or more teams in the North Norfolk National Sea League teams of 5 event comprising of 6 matches during the Autumn – Winter season.

Anyone wishing to join the club can use the club number 07899032984 to request information or simply turn up at the match venue 1 hour before start time and speak to one of the current members and they will point you in the right direction.  The current fixture list is posted on the website.
