Kelling 2nd May
Windy and cold and rough seas, it was like taking a step back in time for this match at Kelling, the poor conditions put a lot of members off and we eventually ended up with only ten anglers fishing. Ivan "Wonky Cast" Alan was first to strike with a nice bass at 46cm giving him a good start with 98 points. A lot of schoolie bass were plaguing us but with the chance of a bigger one most tried to hold bottom in the gulley area. Most managed to catch and there was a good late challenge from Dene "Smooth" Conway and Tony "Yoda" Thomas to try and recoup the 98pts deficit, Dene managed to claw back up to 91pts but Tony found the fish well and slugged his way to his first victory this season, edging Ivan into 2nd place and Dene into 3rd place. Consistent as ever was Peter "Inspector" Morse who was yet again in the frame in 4th place. Next weeks fixture is at Castaways Holiday Park in Bacton , and this venue should throw up several bass and possibly early smooth hounds and doggies, we will see…..
