Trimmingham Sunday 15th June 9.00 – 14.00

A beautiful day to be on the beaches, with light winds and sunny conditions prevailing.

There was a slight surf running when we kicked off 2 hours or so before low tide, but being small tides we knew there was always going to be water with a bit of depth.

8 members decided to fish with all 8 opting for the marks to the left of the slipway, with Robert “Camouflage” Ford, Richard “Golden Bollox” Ives and Dene “Smoooth” Conway walking the furthest towards the concrete revetments.

The line up right to left was Ray “Popeye” Ward, John Neave, Tony “Genesis” Chidwick, Sam Attew, Dennis “The Whinger” Hunn, Dene, Richard, and Robert, witrh Dennis Sam and Tony in the one bay together.

The match started off promising for myself with an undersize small bass taken on the end of the groin and an even smaller flounder, I hoped more fish would show in the gulley I could see 60 or 70 yards out with condition just about right for the Bass to make a show.

I managed to pull in a 21cm Pout early on along with Dennis who grabbed himself an eel on peeler. Reports all the way along were pretty bad with the odd small bass showing but not alot else , we knew then it would be a close match with probably one or two fish winning it. In the last two hours I managed to hook a nice flounder at 30cm and with two fish I was hoping to do well, I was then informed by Dennis that John had a flounder aswell and no one was sure what Ray had at that time so it was still all to fish for….

As it turned out only 3 of us managed to catch giving the others an unexpected blank.

So far this season Trimmingham has not produced the goods during matches, we can only hope that one day we will hit the beaches when the fish are in.
