Holt SAC and Sabre Tackle 2015 Wednesday Evening Match 3

Wednesday 9th September - Kelling

Our third Wednesday evening Sabre Tackle and Holt SAC match went ahead yesterday at our Home venue of Kelling 7pm to 11pm. I decided to peg (the correct way around this time) to the right this time towards the wreck as it is slightly deeper water and as the tide was ebbing it would hopefully fish well. 15 Anglers casted out at the starting whistle eager to test their skills against one another and pit their wits against this peggy venue.

On end peg this week was the So Far Mr Consistant Jake (Bring ya Money) Cooper finding fish but not the stamp of fish he was after. Next on peg 3 Paul (Tagger) Kendrick struggled to find the consistancy with some dodgy ground in front of him. On peg 4 Shane (I'm Back) Scarff was enjoying bringing in regular and decent sized Flounders giving hime a really good chance of a podium spot on his return to the Match scene. On peg 5 Wayne (ole Boi) Clarke found it hard but managed 4 Dabs and 2 Flounders to help his evenings tally.

Next on peg 6 Pete (Dab,Dab,Dab) Simmons seemed to be having his own Dab Festival which would put him in a very good position of a podium spot this week. On peg 7 Trevor (Rod Snapper) Elliot was finding the flats but also a bass of 38cm which stood him a good chance of being in the money. Next on peg 8 the old Maestro Tony (The key Master) Thomas was finding the odd flat but his final two cast he managed 6 dabs to boost his chances of being in the money. On peg 9 Christian (Cockles Tipper) Bulch was beaching small Dabs but couldn't get past them but managed a pretty little 18cm Sole.

Next along on peg 11 Charlie (I love Match Fishing) Needham struggled but wangled out a couple flats and a 27cm Bass. On peg 12 Henry (Just Dabs) Randell couldn't get through the Dabs and Crabs to any better fish. Further along on peg 13 Billy (Gramps) Temple seemingly having the Unlucky peg this week with only a couple fish carded. Next along on peg 14 Mark (Rookie) Howard managed 3 fish on his first match ever. Well done! Next on peg 15 Pete (I love Kelling) Fairclough mangaged a few Dabs early on but slowed down as the match progressed. On peg 16 Tom (Your Lights are On) Gibbs was having a Dab Fest also but sneaked out three Pout close to the end to stand him a chance of a podium spot. Last but not least on End Peg 17 Peter (Hokey Pokey) Loke could'nt quite get through the dabs but managed one Flounder at 25cm

On to the results and in 3rd place with 4lb 4oz was Trevor Elliot. In 2nd place with 4lb 14oz was Shane Scarff and in 1st place and just 1oz ahead with 4lb 15oz was Peter Simmons.
