Holt SAC and Sabre Tackle 2015 Wednesday Evening Match 1

Wednesday 12th August 2015 - Mundesley

Well Folks the New Fortnightly Holt and Sabre Tackle Wednesday Evening League kicked off on 12th August at Mundesley. Fishing was from 7pm until 11pm and fishing the tide down from just after High water. An eager 10 Anglers turned out in this £15 entry match ready to put their skills to the test. The starting whistle blew and the first casts were made. Some opting for the pulley pennel to begin with and some for the three hook flapper method.

It wasn't long before Christian 'Green Cobra' Bulch on peg 6 pulled in a 23cm Flounder giving him hopes of a good session ahead and much to peg 7 Henry 'Copper Pipe' Randells disgust as he noticed that he was tipping off his lug baits with bunches of specially hand picked small rag. Next door on peg 8 Jake 'Eel down the Waders' Cooper was intoa Hound, well I should say Pup as at 29cm long it couldn't have been long born at all. Now on peg 8 Paul 'Kungfoo Caster' Kendrick cristened his new Icon Light with a lovely 32cm Flounder giving him 40 points and a goodchance of biggest flat. Next door on 10 Tom 'off Duty' Gibbs struggled for a bite but was loving the banter.

Mark 'Short Walk' Borley managed one of those small Pups too but was struggling to connect with a few bites. Now on end peg 12 Speedy 'IPA' Muirhead caught so much weed in his swim tha Tom 'Off Duty' Gibbs was contemplating on calling in the sniffer dogs! Now heading the other way up the beach Eastward and just the other side of the break water on peg 5 Richard 'Come on you Fish' Ellis was trying everything for Pennels to flappers to looprigs to wangle out a fish but managedclose to the end a 23cm flounder which put points on his card. next door on peg 4 the old Maestro Tony 'The Force is with You' Thomas was 'saving most of his bait for Friday' but still wangled out a Pup of 24cm putting9 points on his card. End Peg and fishing for Bass most of the match Alan 'Huey' Doy managed a couple of nice Bass within the last hour putting him in prime position for a win.

The whole match went really well, a slow start but a few nice fish in the last hours which means it looks like the fishing will be better over the ebb the next few days. On the Podium and in third place with 1lb 11oz was Christian 'Green Cobra' Bulch, in 2nd place with 3lb 4oz wasJake 'Eel down the waders' Cooper and in 1st place with 6lb 10oz was Alan 'Huey' Doy...Paul 'Kungfoo Caster' kendrickhad the biggest Flat, a nice Flounder of 32cm, Alan 'Huey' Doy the biggest Round, a lovely Bass at 59cm and lucky pegwent to Mark 'Short Walk' Borley.......A Fantastic first Wednesday evening match with Great people, great Anglers and of course the really good banter that goes with it.....The next match will be on Wednesday 26th August at the sametime (venue to be decided).
